Dr. Maritza Paz Fernandez

Family Chiropractor

My name is Maritza Paz Fernandez but my patients know me as Dr. Paz. I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College in 1992 and have been happily serving the South Florida Community for 30+ years. My passion is all things babies and bellies (pregnancy and infant care) but I DO take care of humans of all shapes, sizes and ages. My practice is unique in that I don’t work with insurance and I don’t have staff. From beginning to end, you interact directly with me. You get my full attention and I have the luxury of time to draw on my experience and skills to tailor your care specifically to your needs.

Structural Integration

I have been a certified Rolfer™ and Rolf Movement® practitioner for over a decade. I graduated from the Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration where my studies have taken me to Boulder, CO and Barra do Sahy, Sao Paulo (Brasil). My education and work experience as a civil engineer allows me to see the body not only as a three dimensional structure but as a piece of art. I use mild, direct pressure as well as the client’s movement to melt, mold, unwind, untwist, hydrate and release facial holdings to correct internal misalignments which allows the body to find health through the re-establishment of balance. I am fascinated with body patterns that are created from birth, trauma/stress and our work environment. I use bodywork, movement and dialogue to create change and increase awareness of what it feels like to be in a new body that moves and experiences the world from a different point of view – a view where the body is not fighting gravity but in alignment with gravity.

Many months of terrible hip pain on left side causing me to use a walker and planning to see a neurosurgeon for relief... were gone in 5 minutes on Dr. Paz's table. God bless you, Dr. Paz.
